Major in
English
To qualify for
a Major in English, a student must have completed 36 credit hours
and fulfilled the following requirements:
- English
1006
- English 2006
- at least 6 credit
hours drawn from the following courses in pre-1800 literature:2643,
2713, 3226, 3236, 3306, 3316, 3326, 3336, 3386, 3396, 3505, 3506,
3656, 3666, 3706
- at least 6 credit
hours drawn from Authors & Authorship
- at least 3 credit
hours in courses drawn from each of the following categories:
• Genres
• National or Regional Literature
• Cultural Studies
- at least 18
credit hours of the above must be in courses at the 3000 level
Remember
that each course may fulfill up to two category requirements.
