Professor Tom Bateman joined the STU Political Science Department in July 2003, after having taught political science in Alberta for many years. In 2004 he was appointed Acting Chair. His teaching and research interests are primarily in Canadian politics and government, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, religion and politics, and technology and politics. He has published articles on Canadian Charter application doctrine and on Canadian extradition law. He is co-editor of a collection of introductory readings in contemporary politics.
