Sociology studies relationship among people - within the economy, the family, organizations, religions and ethnic groups. The discipline seeks answers to questions like "How and why are such relationships formed?", "How do we decide what types of behaviour should be considered deviant?" and "What brings about social change?" Our sociology department offers majors and honour programmes. You'll find a wide selection of courses ranging from those dealing with sociological theory, to those which focus on such specific issues as women, the law, race and ethnic relations and war.
