Research Centre Assistant
2.5 year term, 12 hours per week
St. Thomas University
invites applications for the position of Research Centre Assistant to
coordinate activities associated with establishing the New Brunswick
and Atlantic Studies Research and Development Centre.
Reporting to the
Assistant Vice-President Academic (Research) the successful candidate
will be responsible for developing a Policy and Procedures Manual for
the Centre; compiling and maintaining a data base of Research Associates;
organizing annual conferences and seminars; administering applications
for research grants; and liaising between the Board of Directors and
Research Associates of the Centre. Qualifications for the position include
a university degree (preferably with an Atlantic Studies focus), and
above average communication and organizational skills. Experience initiating
new projects and working in an office environment would be considered
assets. Proficiency using word processing and other software applications
is required. Preference will be given to full-time or part-time graduate
students.
The rate of pay
for this position, including vacation pay, is $15 per hour. Further
