The University
is committed to providing on-campus, part-time employment opportunities
to students as a means for students to gain valuable work experience
and meet their financial needs. In doing so, the University does not
wish to compromise the academic performance of students and wishes to
provide as many students as possible with the opportunity to obtain
employment within the University. As such, those employing students
should not expect students to work more than 10 hours per week in on-campus
employment and shall not permit students to work more than 20 hours
per week except in exceptional circumstances. Exceptional circumstances
would exist in situations where academic departments and/or administrative
units actively sought, but were unsuccessful in finding, other individuals
capable of performing the required functions.
