2nd Annual Alumni Golf Tournament a Success

by Sheri Shannon, BA ’00

Mother Nature was on our side again this year as alumni and friends gathered for our second annual golf tournament.

The event which took place at the Mactaquac Golf Tournament proved to be very successful with proceeds raised being donated from the St. Thomas Alumni Association to new initiatives sought out this year. After 18 holes of golf, participants were treated to a BBQ Chicken dinner with all the trimmings by Merv’s Catering. Top prizes were awarded with longest drive (male) going to Steve Horseman, longest drive (female) to Shannon Doran, closest to the hole going to Mike Price and most honest golfers going to team Hamilton. This year’s winners with a score of 10 under par were Steve Horseman, Scott MacKenzie and Gary Forward.

Many thanks to Greg Byrne, BA ‘84 and Karen Lee Lamrock , BA ‘97 for all their work as co-chairs of the event. Special thanks to our corporate partners this year, Johnson Insurance, Kenny& Murray, Smith, Townsend, Myatt and Active Office Supplies for their support.

We look forward to seeing all of our alumni and friends again next year on the course!
