Ray Belliveau of Moncton passed away on April 1, 2002 at the age of 62. While attending St. Thomas University, Ray played in the ‘61 STU Hockey Championships.

Dalton Camp, LLD ‘92, passed away on March 18, 2002. Camp will be remembered for his political columns as well as his journalistic study of Canadian politics and public policy. St. Thomas University President, Dr. Daniel O’Brien, has announced a $1.5 million Endowment to recognize Camp’s significant contribution to Canadian journalism and to enhance the education of journalism students.

Eric Couturier passed away on August 4, 2002 in an unforeseen accident. Eric was a student at St. Thomas University and also assisted in coaching the St. Thomas Tommies.

Anna Mae Duffy, passed away on May 2, 2002. Mrs. Duffy worked for the New Brunswick Teachers Association and was an active member of the Penniac United Church and a founding member of the Penniac Recreation Centre. Condolences to her brother, George Saunders, head of the Cleaning Staff at St. Thomas University.

John J. Kelly, BA ‘48, passed away in 2001. John was a retired Field Auditor with Revenue Canada and had been living in Saint John.

Rev. Louis Kingston, passed away on June 13, 2002. Father Kingston had been a member of the Department of Theology from 1966 until his resignation in June 1979.

Norman (Mackie) MacDonald, father of Professor Dr. Gayle MacDonald, passed away on July 2, 2002 in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Robert McNutt, father of Professor Ms. Linda McNutt, passed away on July 7, 2002 in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Susan Rice, BA ‘71, BEd ‘72, passed away on May 19, 2002 in Edmundston, NB. Susan was a teacher for many
years with School District 18 and was a well known athlete when she attended St. Thomas University. Susan is survived by sister Margaret Ann (Rice) Thorne, BA, ‘70 and brothers Gary Thorne, BA ‘69, BEd, ‘70, and Richard Rice, BA, ‘71, BEd, ‘73.

Rev. George Riley, BA ‘52, passed away on July 1, 2002 in the Saint John Regional Hospital. His brother, Rev. Dr. Henry McGrath, BA '39, LLD '85, was the former bursar and director of St. Thomas University Alumni.

Christine Saulis passed away on March 16, 2002 at her residence in Fredericton. Christine was a Teacher of the Maliseet Language Program at the South Devon School for 25 years. She is predeceased be her husband Herman Saulis, BA ‘84, BEd, ‘90. She is survived by three daughters and five sons, three are St. Thomas University Alumni: Malcolm Saulis, BA’ 76, Conrad Saulis, BA ‘75, and Kevin Saulis, BA, ‘79.
