Hon. John Kelly, BA ‘51, LLD, and his wife, Mary Kelly, BSCN ‘53, are the proud grandparents of the 2002 grad class Valedictorian, Aaron Knox, BA ‘02. Aaron comes from a long line of St. Thomas University graduates. Rev. Ray McKenna, BA ‘52, has recently retired. He is now ministering at Maine State Prison, replacing priests on weekends.

1960's

Eric Dellisle, BA ‘65, BEd ‘67, has retired after 35 years of teaching in JonquiPre, PQ. He is currently living in Chicoutimi, PQ.

Gary Di Paolo, BA ‘69, has recently retired after 33 years of teaching. Gary has been the mayor of the Village of Minto since 2001. He has a busy year ahead of him - all three of his sons are getting married!

Hon. Gregory Evans, LLD ‘63, recently received an Order of Canada. He is currently living in Toronto, ON.

Paul LeBlanc, BA, ‘69, BEd ‘78, has retired from teaching in Newfoundland and is currently living in Nova Scotia.

Penelope (Penny) Packard, STU ‘67 - ‘69, started a retirement home in Stranstad, Quebec in the summer of 2001 with her husband, John. Penny has been teaching for the past 32 years.

Gary Thorne, BA ‘69, BEd ‘70, retired from teaching in June 2001. His wife, Margaret Ann (Rice) Thorne, BA ‘70, retired from teaching in February, 2002.

Douglas Underhill, BA ‘68, BEd ‘69, appeared on Arthur Black’s Basic Black, a live presentation at the Capital Theatre in Moncton, on March 7, 2002. Mr. Underhill recited poetry and also spoke of the history and folklore of the Miramichi. The performance was sold out to a crowd of 800 and was later broadcast coast to coast on March 16, 2002.

1970's

Richard Atamanyk, BA ‘71, is currently working for a company called Va/tech. He has been involved in labour relations since he left St. Thomas University.

Anita Adilman, BA ‘72, sends her congratulations to her daughter Kari Adilman who graduated from UNB with a BA in Multi Media in May 2002.

George Bidlake, BT ‘73, BEd ‘75, has retired from teaching at Fredericton High School after more than 31 years.

Isa Dipiazza, BA ‘71, is head of the Language Department at Cegep di Sept-Iles College.

Stephen Everett, BA ‘77, is now the Principal of Upper Miramichi Regional High School.

Kevin Gormley, BA ‘74 and BEd ‘76, and his wife Linda are proud of their son, Kevin (Bucky) who graduated from St. Mary’s Memorial High School, class of 2002.

Rachael Guidry, BA ‘79 and BEd ‘80, has been teaching in Bathurst for the past 22 years. Her daughter, Jennifer, just recently graduated from high school.

Michael Haley, BT ‘70, is retiring after 32 years of teaching in the Fredericton District.

Margery C. Healey, BA ‘72 and BEd ‘77, is teaching at St. John’s Elementary in Smith’s Falls, ON. She has been on the school board of Eastern Ontario for the past 28 years.

Murray Jackson, BA ‘73, has been living in Ottawa since he graduated from St. Thomas University. He is in his 30th year working with Customs Canada. Murray is also a freelance automotive writer and creates Motor-Cross automotive crossword puzzles that are syndicated throughout North America by King Features Syndicate.

Shirley Johnson, BA’ 72, is a director of research and library services for the Legislative Assembly in Yellowknife. She is currently conducting research for a new human rights act. Shirley’s son, Matthew, is currently attending St. Thomas University and has had some of the same professors that once taught her. Her daughter also hopes to attend post-secondary studies in the fall.

Harold Stevens, BA ‘77, is currently pursuing his Masters in Adult Education at UNB.

David Strang, BA ‘71, retired in March 2002 from his position of Senior Policy Analyst with the Department of Environment and Local Government after 33 years of service. David is currently living in Fredericton.

Cyril Sutherland, BA ‘74, is a lawyer in Moncton and has had his own practice for the past 25 years.

Margaret Tracy, BA ‘75, is currently the manager of Regulatory Affairs for NB Power.

Andrew Wilson, BA ‘76, and his wife, Janice Wilson, BA ‘74, BED ‘76, have a son who just graduated from Nackawic High School.

1980's

Barbara Buchanan, BEd ‘89, is currently working at St. Mary’s University as a Career Counsellor.

Sherry Beaumont, BA ‘88, has recently started a new position as Chair of the Psychology Department at the University of Northern British Colombia.

Michael Humes, BA ‘84, is currently the Senior Vice President of Business Operations for the Columbus Blue Jackets and is the proud father of nine year old Allie and seven year old Scott.

Jocelyn Martin, BA ‘87, BEd ‘88, is grandmother to four year old, Lorinda Crouse. Jocelyn is currently teaching at Millville Elementary School.

Kathy Spence, BEd ‘81, became Vice-Principal for the Peel Board in Ontario. In January, Kathy and her husband became proud grandparents to Kyle Robert Smith. She would really like to hear from her fellow BEd graduates.

Krista Tabor, BA ‘89, BEd ‘90, is currently teaching at Sussex Regional High School and has a ten year old son, Aaron.

William Vickers, BA ‘83, BEd ‘85, is currently teaching in the Northwest Territories. He wishes to say “Hi” to everyone and hopes everyone is well.

Kari Allain, BA ‘97, BEd ‘98, is going to be married on October 5, 2002 to Ryan Gautreau. Kari is currently working for Aliant and Ryan is working for RCI and is also the lead singer in the band Radio Factor. We wish them the best!

Patricia Lee (Brown) Armstrong, BA ‘92, BEd ‘94, is teaching in Riverview, NB.

Andrew Bernard, BA ‘96, completed a Master of Arts in Theology & Religious Studies at University of Wales, Lampeter (UK). He also completed a Master of Applied Ethics at Katholieke Universiteit, Leuven, Belgium.

Lise Bourgeois, BEd ‘97, was recently awarded a certificate of achievement for innovative and fun activities to introduce complex math concepts to her students. Lise teaches Grade 8 math and physical education to English and French immersion students at George Street Middle School in Fredericton. She is one of two New Brunswick teachers awarded the Prime Minister’s award.

John P. Clemons, BA ‘99, and Diane Clemons, BA ‘99, celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in September 2001. John is currently working as a correctional officer with the New Hampshire State Department of Corrections and Diane is a dispatcher with the Concord Police Department.

Rita Cleveland, Certificate in Gerontology ‘94, and her husband are the owners of NERO NB, which is a live action role playing group with a mediaevil twist. She is currently living in Nashwaak Bridge, NB.

Shane Corston, BA ‘91, BEd ‘92, and his wife Tammy Corston, BA ‘90, are currently living in Dawson Creek, BC with their daughters Taylor and Makenna. Shane is the Principal at Douce Coupe Elementary School and Tammy is working as a family education coordinator at a child development centre.

Jody Dallaire, BA ‘93, is presently working as a coordinator for the Provider Affairs Department at Atlantic Blue Cross Care. She has founded an advocacy group, Parents for Quality Care in Moncton, to lobby for superior quality, accessible and affordable child care in NB.

Brian Danbrook, BEd ‘91, now has four children, Megan, Margaret, Barbara and Rick.

Lynne Berthe (St. Amand) Desjardins, BA ‘90, BEd ‘91, recently moved from Owen Sound where she taught for 11 years, to Hanover, ON where she will be teaching grade 5 & 6 French Immersion in Formosa. Her son Sean is in grade 4 and her daughter Shelby is in Kindergarten.

John Desmond, BA ‘96, was recently accepted into Dalhousie’s Medical Program. Congratulations from your friend, Brian Murray, BA ‘96, BEd ‘97.
Heather Folkins, BA ‘92, has been working with Opal for the past 9 years and has been the organist at her church for the past five years. She is currently studying to become a lay minister.

Gary Forrest, BA ‘92, married Natalie Newman in 1996. The couple are currently living in Strathadam, NB with their two children Benjamin and Gillian.

Nathalie Godbout, BA ‘91, graduated from law at UNB in 1994. She has recently joined the partnership at the law firm of Gilbert, McGloan, Gillis in Saint John.

Sandy Goodine, BA ’91, was married to Stacy Howroyd. He is currently working in sales and his wife is a graphic designer.

Aurelius Gordon, BA ‘94, is currently living in Roseau, Commonwealth of Dominica. He was recently part of an official Dominica delegation to visit NB. Kathy Gregory, BA ‘99, her husband Todd Nutbrown and their son Ryleigh (born August 2000) are living in Nova Scotia. Kathy is currently working with Mental Health at the South Shore Regional Hospital.

Tom Hart, BEd ‘95, and his wife Natalie are currently living in St. Stephen with their children, Kathleen and Alex. Tom has been teaching for the past 7 years.

Deborah Hawkes, BA ‘95, received her BEd and is now teaching high school English in Spirit, Alberta.

Mary (O’Brien) Henderson, BA ‘92, graduated from the Atlantic Police Academy in May 2002 and is working as a Constable with Rothesay Regional Police. She married Blaine Henderson in June of 2001 and they are expecting their first child in September 2002.

Kim Henry, BA ‘90, went on to graduate with a BEd ‘99 from UNB. She is now currently employed with District 17. In September 2001, she was voted one of the top 10 teachers in Canada by “Today’s Parent”.

Carolyn Houlahan, BA ‘90, is currently working for Hewlett Packard in Kanata, ON. She has recently moved from downtown Ottawa to live by a lake in rural Athens, ON.

Alison Hughes, BEd ‘94, launched her first book in June 2002. Paddling in Paradise: Sea Kayaking Adventures in Atlantic Canada, features Alison’s photographs and stories from eight paddling trips along very different stretches of coastline in each of the four Atlantic Provinces. The book includes historical background on each province, as well as information on flora, fauna and geography of the region. Paddling in Paradise is published by Goose Lane Editions, Fredericton (1-888-926-8377). Alison now works as a freelance writer and photographer and lives on the shores of Passmaquoddy Bay in Chamcook, just outside of St. Andrews, NB.

Karen Hughson, BA ‘96, completed her Master of Applied Criminology from the University of Ottawa in October 2001. She is currently employed with the Provincial Department of Public Safety as a policy advisor.

Jean Issac, BA ‘98, finished her Education degree in May, 2002 and is currently teaching grade six English at “Alaqsite w Gitpu”.

Emily Johnson, BA ‘94, recently finished her BEd at the University of Toronto. This fall she will be teaching English and Drama at the high school level.

Blair Justason, BA ‘95, is now teaching individuals who are mentally challenged in St. Stephen.

Tina (MacFarlane) Kelly, BA ‘90, BEd ‘93, her husband Terry and her daughter Malory, are pleased to announce the birth of Nathan Wayne, who was born on April 4, 2001. Tina is currently teaching Language Arts at George Street Middle School in Fredericton.

Krista Kitchen, BA ‘96, completed her Masters in Clinical Science at the University of Western Ontario in 1999. She is currently working as a speech pathologist in Toronto and just recently became engaged.

Jill (McDevitt) Knee, BA’98, married Philip Knee August 28, 1999. Jill graduated from UNB law school in May 2001 and is currently working at a law firm in Saint John.

Teri Larry, BA ‘97, is finishing her Education Degree at UNB.

June (LeBlanc) Leger, BA ‘98, married Bobby Leger in June 2000. She earned her Bachelor of Education from Atlantic Baptist University in May 2002 and is currently supply teaching for District 2 in Moncton.

Denise Legere, BSW ‘99, is currently living in Fredericton and working at the Department of Family and Community Services conducting child sexual abuse investigations.

Jason Lehman, BA ‘98, married Rebecca Williamson from Cornwall, Ont., in July 2002.

Annick Levesque, BA ‘96, went on to get his MBA from UdeM, and his LLB. He practised law for one year and is currently working with Industry Canada with the Competition Bureau.

Jennifer Mallet-Lynch, BA ‘99, and Darren Lynch, BA ‘99, were married on August 17, 2001. Darren completed his MA in 2001 from Acadia. The couple are from Riverview but are moving to Alberta.

Shannon MacCormak, BEd ‘98, married Shawn MacCormak (UNB grad ‘95) in July of 2000.

Robin McCrea-Elward, BA ‘99, BEd ‘00, married Chris Elward, BA ‘99, in August 2001. Robin is currently teaching grade eight in the Quispamsis area, and Chris is working at the Irving Oil Refinery in Saint John.

Sean McDermott, BA ‘99, is currently living in Truro, NS and works at a high school in the role of Native Student Advisor and Teaching Assistant. Sean is also the Supervisor of an in-school suspension programme.

Lisa McGibbon, BA ‘97, is currently working as a flight instructor in Calgary.
Joe Obad, BEd ‘96, is working at Telecom in Calgary and is looking to contact St. Thomas University classmates.

Helen O’Donnell-Pare, BA, ‘94, is living in Maine with her husband Joe Pare and her stepson Joey. She is currently working at Richardson Hollow Mental Health Agency doing case management with children.

Sharlene Paul, BA ‘93, is currently the President of the Fredericton Native Friendship Centre.

Danette Pond, BSW ‘95, is working as a Guardianship Social Worker in Prince George, BC where she lives with her husband George Daye and their daughter, Sarah.

Nicole Pratt, BSW ‘99, completed her MSW at Carleton University in 2000. She has been working since that time at the Children’s Aid Society in Truro, NS as a Children-in-Care Social Worker.

Donald Realini, BA ‘99, has begun training with Lethbridge Police Service and will graduate this year.

Alysha Richard, BA ‘99, BEd ‘00, has completed her first year of teaching high school English in Pickering, ON.

Suzanne Rioux, BA ‘96, is currently living in Campbellton with her three children, Jean-Sebastien, Guillaume and Mariere.

Craig Robinson, BA ‘94, is currently working as the Research Co-ordinator for SPIN.

Ardith Shirley, BA ‘93, BEd ‘94, graduated with her MEd from UNB in May, 2002. She is currently the Principal of Chipman Forest Avenue School.

Jennifer Stairs, BA ‘97, completed her Masters at McMaster University and is working for an organization which is a promoter of mentoring and has close ties to 3 educational institutions in Hamilton, ON: McMaster, Redeemer University College and Mohawk College. Susan (Butland) Steeves, BA ‘93, married Jeffrey Steeves in June 2002. Susan is currently working as a Financial Officer at Atlantic Lottery in Moncton.

Kerri Sullivan, BEd ‘99, was married to Troy Titus in December of 2001. The couple are currently residing in Rothesay, NB. Kerri is teaching at Harbourview High School.

Ronald Taweel, BEd ‘90, is currently working as Director of Human Resources and Development for Western School Board in PEI. He is living in PEI with his wife, Melanie, and his sons, Ryan and Ethan.

Matt Toner, BA ‘91, is working for Electronic Arts on the West Coast as a writer. He is also teaching Interactive Storytelling at the Vancouver Arts School.

Kellie (Tefry) Walsh, BA ‘98, was married this past September to Scott Walsh. The couple is currently living in Hantsport, N.S.

Tanya Walsh, BA ‘92, BSW ‘95, graduated with a MSW from the University of Toronto in 1998. She lives with her husband, Sean, and is presently working in Toronto as a social worker.

Nancy Welock, BSW ‘93, has been working with Family and Community Services, with the new Adoption Project since October 2001.

Guylaine Williams, BA ‘92, is currently teaching English at St. Mary’s University TESL program after having spent two years abroad travelling in Europe and Asia and teaching English in Beijing. She is also teaching yoga in Halifax and working towards her Masters in English.

Leah White, BSW ‘92, is employed as a counsellor at the Victim Services/Family Violence Prevention Unit in Whitehorse and obtained a MSW from Carleton University. She is also the proud mother of Shara, born 1996, and Joshua, born 2001.

2000's

Sari Adilman, BA ‘01, would like to congratulate her sister who has recently graduated from UNB with a BA in Multimedia.

Heather Allen, BA ‘01, is currently working on her Masters in Anthropology at the University of Toronto.

Cheryl Aubie, BA ‘00, has recently earned a MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Windsor, and is continuing on in the Ph.D. program. She is engaged to Andy Frink of Fredericton and they are planning to be wed in August 2003 in Fredericton.

Grace (Brennan) Ayles, BAA (Gerontology) ‘01, was married to Ross Ayles in September, 2001 in Fredericton.

Robin Baker, BA ‘01, is currently pursuing her Masters in Clinical Developmental Psychology at York University.

Jenninfer Ball, BA ‘00, completed her BEd at UNB and is currently teaching grade four French Immersion at Forest Hills Elementary in Saint John, NB.

James Christopher, BSW ‘02, has been accepted to the graduate program at O. I. S. E. James hopes to return to the Maritimes after completing his program and look for a position in Community Development.

Ryan Conway, BA ‘01, is currently working on his Masters in English and creative writing at UNB.

Amanda DiPaolo, BA ‘01, will be pursuing a PhD in political science at the University of Syracuse. The position includes a full tuition scholarship and a teacher assistantship of $13,800 which is renewable for four years.

Heather Duffet Weeks, BSW ‘00, is currently working as a therapist with Family Enrichment and Counselling.

Christine (Springer) Edmondson, BA ‘01, was married to Curtis Edmondson, BA ‘01, on July 7, 2001. Christine is now working on her BEd at UNB.

Matthew Flanagan, BA ‘02, is currently working on his Masters in English at Dalhousie University. Dal has awarded him the Faculty of Graduate Studies Scholarship valued at $10,625, as well as a teaching assistantship valued at $3,705.

Patricia Graham, BA ‘02, is working on her BEd at St. Thomas University.

Merri-Lee Hanson, BA ‘02, has been accepted to the Master of Social Work program at the University of Toronto. It is a two year thesis and practicum program.

Valerie Marie Kennedy, BA ‘02, has been accepted to the United Theological College in Montreal where she will pursue her Master of Divinity.

Jessica Legacé, BA ‘02, is employed full time taking care of press releases for McDonald’s Restaurants across Canada. She is currently living in Toronto.

Amy Liutkus, BA ‘01, is currently enrolled in the BEd Program at UNB.

Tania Margeson, BA ‘00, is employed full time at the Office of the Ombudsman as an investigator. On May 18, 2002 she was wed to Wade Schafer.

Dave Markey, BA ‘02, is currently working on his BEd at UNB.

Kimberly Martin, BA ‘01, is finishing her BEd from UNB, and has recently had another baby, a son, Ta’pit.

Scott Martin, BA ‘01, is currently working at a Library for Corrections Canada. He is planning on buying a house in Springhill in the near future.

Heather (Branch) McChesney, BA ‘00, moved to Ontario in December 2002 and is currently teaching Core French to grades 7 and 8 at the Sudbury Catholic District School Board in Sudbury. Heather is looking to get in touch with St. Thomas University Alumni in the Sudbury region.

Peggy (Margaret) McEachreon, BA ‘02, is currently working on her diploma in Visual Arts with Art Schools Inc.

Jennifer Parker, BA ‘01, is in the MSC program in Experimental Psychology (developmental) at Dalhousie University. She has been granted a five year fellowship as well as a teaching assistantship.
Jeff Richardson, BA ‘01, is currently working as the General Manager of the Meal Exchange Program in Toronto.

Richard Ross, BA ‘00, married Carla Ross, BA ‘98, BEd ‘99. They now have a daughter, Emma, born in November of 2000. Richard is currently working as a manager at Scotia Bank in Belleville,ON. Carla is currently teaching Core French for the public school board in Trenton.

Kelly Seamans, BA ‘02, is currently working on her BEd at St. Thomas University.

Ivan Sisco, BA ‘00, is currently attending graduate studies at Southern Connecticut State University. He plans to bring his business back to the Maritimes - prepaid legal services.

Roxanne Stockford, BA ‘00, has recently been engaged to Randy Watson from Woodstock, NB. The couple will soon be moving to Truro, NS.

Florence Tays, BA ‘00, began her Master of Social Work at Dalhousie in September 2001.

Jessica Vyede, BA ‘00, is now working at the University of Toronto as Program Coordinator for Rotman School of Management.

Pamela Wallin, LLB ‘02, was named consul-general in New York by Prime Minister Jean Chrétien in June 2002. Mr. Chrétien hopes the TV host will increase Canada`s profile in NY.

Kendra Willie, BA ‘01, completed her Master of Arts in Journalism at the University of Western Ontario. She is currently working as a freelancer in Halifax.

Leigh Wood, BA ‘01, BEd ‘02, is currently teaching kindergarten at Touchstone Community School in Rothesay, NB.
