Alumni Getting Together

This year, as always, fellow alumni had the opportunity to get together and catch up on old times and make new friends at intimate receptions.

In June, the National Social Work Conference was held in Moncton. Dr. John Coates and Prof. Brian Ouellette, BA ‘73 from the St. Thomas Social Work Department hosted a gathering on behalf of the Alumni Association. There were alumni present form coast to coast as well as from every decade since the 50’s inclusive.

In July, the Alumni Association sponsored another function at the Miramichi Irish Festival. This was a great chance for folks to catch up and reminisce. There was even a hockey challenge made. In a six game schedule 1960-1961, three young Tommies scored 81 points. They challenge any line in Canadian College history to beat that record.

If you are interested in holding an alumni event in your area, please contact Katherine Loughrey, alumni affairs officer at St. Thomas University. We are always interested in finding new ways of getting together.
