1950s

Andre-Albert St. Laurent, BA ’55, is now living in Montreal. He is a member of the executive board of the Jahamir Society for Culture and Philosophy. Recently he attended a meeting of the executive board held in Tripli, Libya.

Rev. Maurice L. Pierce, BA ‘51, is retired and living in Ontario where he is a facilitator of Serendipity for small groups. He also does replacement ministry in parishes for short periods of time.

1960s

Mary Goguen, BA ‘68 and BEd ‘70, retired from teaching this year.

Jean Kelly, BA ‘66, BEd ‘67, retired from the teaching profession five years ago and is living in Wabush, Newfoundland. Jean is an active volunteer in her community.

Ed Lester, BA ‘66, BEd ‘69, recently retired after 34 years of teaching. Throughout his career, he taught at 13 different schools with his last position being at Saint John High School.

Malcolm MacDonald, BA ‘62, would like to announce the marriage of his son Ian, to Fiona Darken of Saint John. They were married in Vancouver, BC, where they currently reside.

Farrell McCarthy, BA ‘64, BEd ‘70, is currently the editor for The Shamrock Leaf, a newsmagazine of the Irish Canadian Cultural Association of New Brunswick.

Michael Pare, BA ‘69, is currently the Aboriginal Litigation Manager for Canada. His wife Teresa, BA ‘74, is an artist. Michael and Teresa are living in Ottawa, Ontario and can be reached at tweeda@sympatico.ca.

1970s

Guy Delisle, BA ‘70, was appointed as a member of the Canadian Transportation Agency effective January 2002. The Agency is a quasi-judicial body established under the Canada Transportation Act to administer government policies to help insure Canada’s transportation system is efficient and accessible.

Robert Fitzpatrick, BA ‘73, BEd ‘74, is the Executive Director of the NBTA and on educational leave this school year. He along with his wife Sheila, and their two children, Kyle and Cassandra, are living in Brisbane, Australia.

Mark Giberson, BA ‘76, accepted a post as Senior Policy Advisor with the Treasury Board Secretariat, responsible for communications of Canadian Government policy across 93 federal government departments and agencies.

Alan Hermitage, BA ‘72, retired from teaching in June 2001.

Carolyn Layden Stevenson, BT ‘70, BA ‘71, has recently been appointed to the Federal Court of Canada.

Joseph Monahan, BA ‘72, BEd ‘75, recently moved to Sussex where he is the Vice Principal at Sussex Regional High School.

Danny Watson, BA ‘70, is currently the Deacon for the Diocese of Portland, ME. He and his wife Brenda (Monaghan) Watson, BA ‘72, are expecting their second grandchild.

1980s

Patricia Carlson, BA ‘89, is a proud grandmother of her two and a half year old grandson.

Sheree Fitch, BA ‘87, is currently the UNICEF ambassador for Atlantic Canada. She has recently released a new children’s book entitled No Two Snowflakes, Illustrated by Janet Wilson.

Jennifer Flood-Waugh, BA ‘89, BEd ‘90, is currently teaching Grade 5 at Havelock Elementary School in Saint John.

Cynthia Gatto, BEd ‘86, is working as a public librarian in Dartmouth, NS, after earning her MLIS at Dalhousie University.

Eamon Graham, BEd’ 86, is currently teaching Grade 6 french-immersion in Summerside, PEI.

Sister Shelley Grant, BA ‘82, is currently working as a pastoral administrator at St. Jude’s Catholic Mission, north of Whitehorse.

Douglas LaBrie, BA ‘80, is an army Lieutenant-Colonel who is currently teaching at the Army Staff College in Kingston, ON.

John L. McLaughlin, BA ‘82, has recently been appointed assistant professor in Old Testament/ Hebrew Bible at the University of St. Michael’s College in the University of Toronto. His second book, The Question of Jesus was published in October, 2001 by Novalis Press (Ottawa).

Greg Moffitt, BA ‘ 83, BEd ‘84, was appointed Principal of Garden Creek School in Fredericton, NB, September 2001.

Annie Morrison, BA ‘84, BEd ‘88, is currently taking a one-year sabbatical from teaching to work with Culture and Heritage on the Red Bank Reserve.

Philip Pierlot, BA ‘87, BEd ‘88, and Holly (Rioux) Pierlot, BA ‘88, BEd ‘89, now have five children and are living in Charlottetown, PEI. Philip is teaching at Charlottetown Rural High School and Holly is home schooling her children, working as a home school consultant and publishing work in this field.

Wendy Sabean, BA ‘84, is currently the Assistant Crown Attorney and Team Leader of Summary Conviction Appeals and Extraordinary Remedies at the Toronto Crown Attorney’s Office.

Sherri Smith, BA ‘89, is currently working as a Behaviour Intervention Mentor for District 18.

Katherine Szo, BA ‘86 and BEd ‘87, has a new job at Harvey Elementary School as Vice Principal.

Myrna Ainslie, BEd ‘93, is currently teaching English, music and art to Grade 9-12 students at Bathurst High School.

Patricia Alecce, BEd ‘93, is currently teaching grade 1 in Amherst, NS, and is busy with her year old son, Brady.

Danita (Fox) Algar, BA ‘96, just started a new job as an investment officer at Investment Partnerships Canada (Industry Canada). Danita, her husband and son are living in Orleans, Ontario and are patiently awaiting a new addition to the family in October.

Natalie (Hartford) Anderson, BAAJ ‘99, married Jason Anderson July 14, 2001. Natalie works full-time for Literacy New Brunswick and competed in the Mrs. Canada International Pageant in March promoting literacy.

Marie-Claude Anger, BA ‘96, is currently practising law in Grand Falls, NB.

Natasha Armstrong, BA ‘99, is currently doing her Masters of Education in Counselling and Human Development at UNB.

Delta (Dugas) Arnold, BA ‘97, received a Masters in Counselling at Providence Seminary in Winnipeg and is currently working at Trinity Western University in British Columbia. Delta and her husband are expecting their first baby.

Elizabeth Baines, BA ‘98, completed a Masters in Adult Education at UNB in 2000. She is also the proud grandmother of Abigail and Emma.

Jennifer Beaton, BEd ‘98, married Kevin MacMillan and is currently teaching in the Elmsdale area of Nova Scotia.

Jane Campbell, BA ‘95, is retiring in June, from Park Street Elementary School in Fredericton, after 33 years of teaching.

Lynn Caravan, BA ‘93, is currently working from her home in Fredericton building custom boats.

Lisa D. Carlin, BA ‘98, married Stephen Adams, BA ‘88, in July 2000. They are now residing in Cambridge, Ontario.

Heather Comeau, BA ‘98, received her BEd from UNB in 2000, and is currently supply teaching for District 16.

Craig Conohan, BA ‘95, BEd ‘96, is a grade 8 and 9 teacher at Montague Junior High School on PEI.

Renee Constantine, BA ‘98, recently graduated from Memorial University with a diploma in Information Technology and is currently working for HRDC in Hull, Quebec. She is also engaged to Glenn Cooper and they have plans to marry in the summer of 2003.

Elizabeth Corey-McCready, BA ‘98, married Robert McCready in 1998, and had a son, Darren, in July of 2000. Elizabeth is expecting another child in September.

Sarah Cousens, BA ‘99, married Scott Holland of Fredericton on September 8, 2001.

Angela Cseleny, BA ’90, has been living in Vancouver for the past eight years and planned on returning to New Brunswick in April to work as a dental assistant in the Moncton area.

Carrie Dawson, BA ‘97, graduated with her Masters in Social Work from Wilfred Laurier University in 2000, and is currently working with the Family Medicine Programme at Ottawa Hospital.

Joeleen DeGurse, BEd ‘93, is pleased to announce her engagement to Mark MacDonald. Their wedding will take place May 25, 2002, in Corunna, Ontario. Joeleen is employed with the Lambton Kent District School Board, teaching secondary history, English and French. Joeleen and Mark will be moving to Camlachie this summer.

Shannon Doyle, BEd ‘95, completed his MEd at L’Université de Moncton in 2001, and is currently the Principal of Elgin Elementary School.

Pauline C. Geneau, BA ‘95, is currently teaching at the Montessori School in Yellowknife and is engaged to be married to Bryan Kelly.

Aurelius Gordon, BA ‘94, is the Co-ordinator of the Dominica Association of Canadian Graduates in the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Eastern Caribbean.

Shawn M. Graham, BEd ‘93, is the MLA for Kent County and is currently running for the leadership of the New Brunswick Liberal Party.

Leanne (McGrattan) Hickey, BA ‘98, graduated from UNB with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree in May 2001. She married Peter Hickey in Saint John, NB on September 1, 2001, and is currently working full-time at the QEH in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Lucas Holt, BA ‘98, completed his BEd at UNB and joined his mother Peggy Holt, BA ‘74, BEd ‘74, in teaching at Leo Hayes High School. Lucas also coached the Leo Hayes varsity boys basketball team this year.

Jennifer Howard, BA ‘95, is heading a project for mental health on suicide prevention in Fredericton.

Darren Lynch, BA ‘99 and Honours degree in Sociology ‘00, is working with the Federal Government in the Citizenship/Immigration Department as a Senior Immigration Examining Officer.

Shawn MacNeil, BA ‘99, is currently working at the Nova Scotia Youth Centre.

Robert Scott MacTavish, BA ‘91, BEd ‘92, of MacTavish Travel plans to pursue a new career with Remax Realty.

Kathleen Makela, BA ‘90, is working at the University of Saskatchewan as the Director of the Aboriginal Students’ Centre which is a part of Student Affairs and Services. Johanna “Kitty” Maurey, BA ‘94 (right), was a member of the UNB law team that recently won the national 2002 Laskin Moot Court Competition in Quebec City. Her team mates were from left, Shiva Galbaransingh, Amy Sakalauskas and Michelle Brun.

Johanna “Kitty” Maurey, BA ‘94, will marry Leo Macneil this summer. Kitty is currently completing her second year at UNB Law. Kitty was a member of the team of four law students who recently won the 2002 Laskin Moot Court Competition in Quebec City. Leo is working as a freelance technical writer.

Angela McNulty-Buell, BA ‘98, is currently doing graduate studies at Carleton University in Legal Studies and raising her daughter Mikayla with her husband Mike.

Rick Peters, BEd ‘97, is teaching and coaching basketball at West Isle Composite School in PEI.

Dannette Pond, BA ‘95, is working as a Guardianship Social Worker in Prince George, BC where she lives with her husband George Daye and their daughter Sarah.

Sean Scully, BA ‘95, will begin teaching in Greensville, South Carolina in August. He is engaged to marry Cindy Lee of Hong Kong this June.

Paul B. Shepard, BA ‘93, received his Bachelor of Education from U.P.E.I. in 1999. He is currently a full time teacher at Parkside Elementary school in Summerside, P.E.I.

Kelly (Baker) Smyth, BA ‘98, BEd ‘99, married Matt Smyth, BA ‘98, in August 2000. Kelly is now teaching Grade 3 in Ottawa.

Jill Staples, BA ‘99, became engaged to Mark Scaplen in November 2001, and bought her first house in January 2002.

Shauna L. Stennick, BA ‘97, has graduated with her Masters in Education from UNB and is currently working at St. Thomas University!

Adam Stickles, BA ‘98, was married to Robyn Beth Conley, BA ‘96, in May of 2001. They are currently living in Miramichi.

Angela Storey, BA ‘95, received a Certificate in Massage Therapy from Kine-Concept Institute Maritimes Inc. in 2001, and moved to Ontario where she passed the Massage Therapist of Ontario board exam. She is currently living in Markham, ON with her fiancé and working at two clinics.

Nicole Tardiff, BA ‘96, graduated with two Masters degrees from Dalhousie in May 2001. She now lives in Red Deer, Alberta and works as a speech pathologist.

Heather (Donovan) Taylor, BA ‘98, recently graduated from Acadia Divinity College with a Master of Divinity. She and her husband Quentin, are also the proud parents of their first son, Charles James.

Erika Topolski, BA ‘99, is currently completing a Masters Degree and working as a grad assistant at the Department of Mass Communication at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York.

Tracey Wade, BSW ‘96, received her MSW at the University of Toronto and is currently employed full-time at the Clark Institute of Psychiatry and as a part-time instructor in the social service worker program at Sheridan College.

Tammy (Carmichael) Walsh, BA ‘95, married Kevin Walsh in 1999, and is currently teaching in New Brunswick School District 8.

Winnifred Wells, BA ‘97, (also BED UNBF ‘99 and MED UNBF ‘00) is working as an instructional designer at Zedd Com in St. John’s Newfoundland. She is engaged to be married to Kevin Everitt, BA ‘99, on June 7th, 2002.

Scott Williams, BA ‘ 94, was recently married to Phoebe Williams.

W.T. Wilson, BA ‘98, received his law degree from UNB in 2001. He is currently an associate at Cox, Hanson, O’Reilly, Matheson. He says St. Thomas offered him the best years of his nine year school life.

2000s

Aimee Barry, BA ‘01, will complete her BAAJ from St. Thomas University in the summer of 2002.

Tinika Caines, BA ‘00, graduated in 2001 with her BEd from UNB.

Michael Fox, BA ‘01, is a member of the Canadian Forces working as a military policeman.

Mary Green, BSW ‘00, is currently working towards a MSW at Carleton University.

Spencer Jeffrey, BA ‘00, BEd ‘01, took a teaching position at the native school in Schefferville, PQ. He teaches grades 4-11 and also coached the cross country team this past fall. The temperature hovers around minus 45 degrees Celsius from December to March and the only way in or out from Sept Isles is to fly (12 seat plane) or take the train on its 11 hour journey available once a week. Spencer is the son of Carol and Gale Jeffrey, BT ‘70, BA ‘71, of Sussex.

George MacIntyre, BA ‘01, recently left Yellowknife and began an internship with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League, working with the Special/Gameday Events Department.

Sean Myles, BA ‘00, is currently enrolled in the MSc in Human Biology at the Institute of Biological Anthropology at Oxford University.

Chandra Parrott, BA ’00, is presently working on her MA at UNB.

Casey Picard, BA ’01, is currently attending UNB enrolled in first year law.

Amanda Pottle, BA ’00, finished her BEd at the University of Maine at PresqueIsle in December 2001, and is currently teaching at Ridgeview Middle School in Oromocto.

Stacie Quigley, BA ‘00, was married in June of 2001 to Darren Lanteigne. They currently live in Fredericton and are expecting their first child in July.

Melissa Theriault, BA ‘00, is currently attending UNB working toward a Bachelor of Nursing degree. She is currently living in Oromocto.
