Resource
Display - May 20 to May 23
For the duration of the conference, the Campus Bookstore of UNB-STU
will have an extensive display of books and resources relevant to narrative.
This will be located in the foyer outside the Grand Ballroom. Among
the works available for purchase will be books by Sharon Butala and
other presenters.
Narrative
Matters T-Shirts
Be sure to take something of Narrative Matters back home with you! T-shirts
with the conference logo on the front and back are available in a variety
of colours at the table next to the conference registration office in
the foyer outside the Grand Ballroom. The price per T-shirt is $15 (taxes
incl).
Butala
Book Signing
Keynote speaker, Sharon Butala, will be in the foyer outside the Grand
Ballroom to sign copies of her books following her keynote address on
Friday evening, May 21. Her books will be available for purchase at
the Resource Display. She will also be doing a book reading at the Fredericton
Public Library, 12 Carleton Street, at 12 noon on Thursday, May 20.
Breathe,
Stretch, and Relax
(Friday and Saturday 10:00-10:30 am and 3:00 - 3:30 pm)
During the breaks, take advantage of a special quiet corner for time
out: a self-care opportunity to allow body and mind a brief respite
amidst your busy day. Come as you are and enjoy 20 minutes of guided
relaxation. Pat Hine, your facilitator, has a practice of Modified Yoga
for Special Needs and operates out of a facility in Fredericton called
Loka Health Options. She maintains that “success” is measured
by how you feel, not how much you can do. May your sampling bring you
a hint of this experience. Location: Grand Ballroom D(b). Space : Limited
to 20 per session. (Please note that we will honor these times with
closed doors.)
Music
Music for the Welcoming Reception and the Banquet is being provided
by “Jazz Variations”, featuring David Rehorick on piano,
Peter MacDonald on acoustic bass, and Kareem Elhawary on drums.
Closing
Reflections - Sunday, May 21, 3:00 - 5:00 pm
A key objective of Narrative Matters is to facilitate an ongoing exchange
of ideas, resources, and information. Accordingly, everyone is invited
to a special 2-hour session in the Governor’s Ballroom to discuss
ways to continue to make this happen.
