For Immediate Release: May 13, 2002 Awards granted at St. Thomas Convocation [Fredericton] -- St. Thomas University will award degrees to 348 students at its 2002 Convocation ceremony at 2 p.m. on May 13, 2002. There are 302 Bachelor of Arts graduates, 24 Bachelor of Social Work
graduates, and 22 Bachelor of Applied Arts graduates (17 in Criminal
Justice and 5 in Journalism). The University will also recognize two members of the faculty who have distinguished themselves through outstanding service as teachers or scholars over the past year. Dr. Ian Nicholson of the Department of Psychology and Dr. Jeannette Gaudet of the French Department will receive merit awards. The Rev. Barry Craig, Ph.D., will be presented with an Excellence in Teaching Award. Rev. Craig is a professor of philosophy at St. Thomas University. Aaron Christopher Knox will give the valedictory address.
