Adult Learner Awards

Following are scholarships/bursaries of specific interest to Adult Learners. Adult learners who attend as full-time students may be eligible for other in-course scholarships administered by the Registrar’s Office.

Alice Doyle Memorial Scholarship

Value: approximately $500. One scholarship to be awarded annually. Open to a mature student enrolled in second, third, or fourth year. The principal criteria are initiative and need. Donor: the family of Mrs. Alice Doyle. Apply: Registrar's Office, St. Thomas University.

Geoffrey W. Vail Bursary

Value: $1000. One bursary awarded annually to a student entering university under the mature student admissions policy. Among the selection criteria are financial need and the potential for contributing to the quality of student life or activities. Selection will be made in January. Apply: Admissions Office, St. Thomas University.

Katherine Louise Roderick Scholarship

Value: $1500. One scholarship to be awarded annually to a full-time student. This scholarship honours the memory of Katherine Louise Roderick, a student at St. Thomas University from 1966-70. Open to women entering first year under the mature student admissions policy. Selection will be made in January and will be based on semester one grades. Apply: Admissions Office, St. Thomas University.

Scoudouc River Continuing Education Award: Part-time Students

Field of study unrestricted, tenable only at post-secondary institutions in New Brunswick. These awards are intended for part-time students and are open to persons residing in New Brunswick who were not engaged in full-time study during the twelve-month period preceding the date of application. The minimum value of this award is $100 per course, and its maximum value is $300 per course. No one may receive more than one of these awards in any calendar year. The donor is the late Dr. William L. Webster. Application forms can be obtained from the Registrar's Office, St. Thomas University. The completed forms should be returned to that office. Awards are made in the middle of the months of October, February, May, and July; applications should be made respectively before September 15, January 15, April 15, and June 15. Applications will be considered by the Scoudouc River continuing education awards selection committee.
