Academic Transition Day Academic Transition Day, September 8th, 2004, marks the transition between Welcome Week and the beginning of classes. All new students will want to attend the sessions led by faculty and staff from the St. Thomas academic community. During the day, you will learn about the mutual expectations held between students and faculty within the context of the classroom. You will also be engaged by the stories of how the faculty member leading your session became interested in their field of study. Academic Transition Day will help you understand your role as a student at St. Thomas. Moreover, the sessions will provide a venue for asking questions which will help orient you to university studies. The end of Academic Day is marked by the T-Pin Ceremony. For more information about the T-Pin Ceremony see page 3. After the ceremony, the Students’ Union will be hosting a Dance/Social in the cafeteria in James Dunn Hall. Academic Transition Day is the most important day of Welcome Week, so be sure to take part in all of the events! Academic Transition Day |
