The Student Alumni Association filled 260 care packages for residence students in early April ( L-R: Leigh Wood, Beth Croucher, Kyla Wright (president), Jody Tompkins and Brad Doucette.) Parents of residence students were contacted and invited to purchase a care pakckage. Each package included various items ranging from such items as a toothbrush to bowling passes to food coupons. Additionally, each student was eligible to win a STU sweatshirt, STU shorts, an Atlantic Lotto sweatshirt, an Atlantic Lotto bookbag, an Easter basket, and a large chocolate Easter bunny. Pepsi, McDonald's, Kingswood, Chandler, Tim Hortons, Criminology Society and Atlantic Lotto sponsored the initiative. |

At this year’s Students’ Union Award Banquet, the Students’ Union 2001 Leadership Award went to John-Kevin Flynn (BEd 2001), president of the Education class. Kate Fletcher (BA II) won the Sister Legere award and a Top 10 prize. She served as Holy Cross House Students’ Union representative this past year. Retiring History professor Tony Rhinelander and English professor Andrea Schutz each received the Students’ Union Excellence in Teaching Award. |

On Thursday, May 3, St. Thomas University hosted a group of students and administrators from Carleton North High School. The group consisted of 21 students from the Beijing Concord College of Sino-Canada and their “twins” (host family students from Carleton North, with whom the Chinese students are living). The visit consisted of a presentation, campus tour and buffet pasta lunch, after which the group departed for the opening of the NB Legislature. |

Bertha L. Miller Memorial Scholarship Value: $500 per annum The Bertha L. Miller Memorial Scholarship is open to graduating students who demonstrate academic merit and who have been accepted to postgraduate studies.
