Peter Forestell graduated from St. Tho- mas University in 1973. During his four years at St. Thomas, Mr. Forestell was active in student politics and served as Comptroller of the Student Union in 1973, as vice-president of his graduating class and, after graduating, as Director of Student Affairs. Having received his LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 1977, he is a senior partner at the Atlantic Canada law firm, Patterson Palmer Hunt Murphy, in their Saint John office. He has been a member of the firm’s Business Law Group throughout his practice. He has served his firm on various committees including its Regional Management Committee. A member of a number of legal associations and societies, Mr. Forestell has for several years taught at the New Brunswick Bar Admissions Course as Course Leader and Lecturer in Commercial Law. He has also chaired various corporate and commercial law conferences for New Brunswick Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Forestell has been a member of the St. Thomas Board of Governors since 1995 and is a member of the Executive Committee, among others. He also serves as Secretary to the Board of Governors. Mr. Forestell is married to Marina Lundy and they live in Rothesay. They have four children, one of whom attends St. Thomas. |

Greg Byrne attended St. Thomas Uni- versity, graduating in 1984. He then received a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of New Brunswick in 1987. He is currently an associate in the Fredericton office of Patterson Palmer Hunt Murphy. As a former member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, Mr. Byrne represented the constituency of Fredericton-Fort Nashwaak from September 1995 to June 1999. He served as Minister of State for Mines and Energy, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Government House Leader, and Minister Responsible for Service New Brunswick. In the community, Mr. Byrne has served as president of the St. Anthony’s Parish Council, chair of the Fredericton Irish Gathering Committee, president of the St. Thomas University Alumni Association, chair of the Bylaws and Governance Committee of the Region 3 Hospital Corporation, and founding member of the Associates of the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick. He currently works on the St. Thomas University Foundation and the Marysville Heritage Committee. Greg and his wife Patti have three children. |

Carmelita O’Neill is president of communicateWELL Inc., a small, Fredericton-based communication company providing communication services and adult education programming. She served as chairperson of the Board for the Region 3 Hospital Corporation from 1995-98 (active on the board from 1992-99), and chaired the New Brunswick Healthcare Association from 1997-98. Having obtained a Master of Arts in Corporate and Political Communication, Ms. O’Neill’s experiences as a communication consultant have involved travels to the Ivory Coast, Kenya, Philippines and Sri Lanka. Last fall, Ms. O’Neill published a book entitled Navigating New Water: A Resource for Nurturing a Respectful, Compassionate Hope-Filled Presence in our Healthcare Settings in the Waters of the New Millennium. She was appointed to the St. Thomas Board of Governors last fall. Ms. O’Neill has three children with her husband Robbie. |
