The Third Age Centre,
established at St. Thomas in 1990, is designed to promote study and
research on issues in aging, particularly those which are specific to
New Brunswick. It will develop programmes to meet needs identified by
seniors, and a communications network to inform New Brunswickers of
activities, events, and issues of concern to an aging population. The
Centre serves as an advocacy resource for seniors, as well as an access
point for both informal educational activities and formal academic programmes
with an intergenerational focus. It will publish, collect, and distribute
materials of interest to individual seniors and to seniors organizations.
