Main Components

Health

Each health interview entails assessments of health, level of independent functioning, and quality of life, that use formal protocol documents and health history questionnaires.

Social

Interviews for the social component employ an extensive questionnaire to gather data on such items as social networks, work life, living conditions, and other demographic information.

Psychological

Interviews for the psychological component employ a combination of standardized instruments, questionnaires, and tasks to assess such things as verbal understanding, reasoning, spatial ability, life satisfaction, stressors and coping strategies, personality and short- and long-term memory.

Biographical

The biographical component involves an open-ended life-story interview, plus a range of questions on particular life-themes to complement information gathered through the social and health components.
